This is Andi.
These are goldfish.
Andi does not, apparently, like goldfish. We found this out when Andi’s aunt Noelle took her to the zoo this week. Andi was riding in the stroller, and Aunt Noelle thought she might be hungry, so Noelle put a scoop of goldfish crackers onto the tray in front of Andi so that she could stroll and eat at the same time.
In response, my daughter methodically gathered every single goldfish into her tiny hand. Then she looked at Noelle, and without breaking eye contact, she crushed them all in her fist in one, violent act of rebellion. Then without compassion or emotion, she let the crumbs fall unceremoniously to the ground and began her hunger strike until she got something more to her liking.
I can’t wait until she turns 13.

I am terrified of the upcoming teenage years.
