Gloriously, the answer to both questions is “yes.”

God loves us. Because He loves us, He gives us limits.

We must discipline our minds to look at our daily lives in light of the resurrection.

“If that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”

You may not be able to control that initial thought, but you can certainly control, by God’s grace, what happens next.
