Wednesday Links (On Thursday)

Yep. I’m a day late this week. Nevertheless, here are a few links to some things you might have missed, or at least ones that caught my attention this past week:

1. Discipleship in the Age of the Spectacle

This is a long one, but worth the time. It exposes the irony of the constant spectacle we have before our eyes through entertainment actually undermines our imagination.

2. 5 Ways to Wound Immature Believers

Good counsel here. Here’s the lead sentence, which is particularly convicting: “Making fun of immature Christians has turned into quite the lucrative market.”

3. The Secrets of All 6 Oval Office Desks

Did you know there have only ever been 6 desks used in the Oval Office? Me neither.

4. Why Hospitality Beats Entertaining

There is a difference between the two. And Jen Wilkin beautifully points is out.

5. Elstree 1976

Here’s a trailer for a documentary coming out which details the experience of the extras in Star Wars. Pretty cool.
