Wednesday Links

Here are a few links to some things you might have missed, or at least ones that caught my attention this past week:

1. The Cosmic Importance of Children’s Sunday School

This is a good word from Russell Moore. It’s part personal reflection, part exhortation, and as he says, children’s Sunday school can be a matter of life and death.

2. Delve Into the Bible and Learn to Swim

86% of American households own at least one Bible, but only 1 in 7 adults read it daily. Trevin Wax writes here about how to immerse yourself in the Scriptures.

3. 9 Things You Should Know About J.R.R. Tolkien

Here’s one: “Tolkien claims the idea for his first famous fantasy novel, The Hobbit, came to him suddenly while he was grading student essay exams. He took out a blank piece of paper and wrote, ‘In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit.'”

4. Plow Around That Stump

This is good advice, not only for pastors, but for all of us when we are trying to bring about change in an environment.

5. Main Street Electrical Parade and Disney’s Secret Warehouse

This is a cool little commercial, especially if you’ve been to Disney before.
