Wednesday Links

Here are a few links to some things you might have missed, or at least ones that caught my attention this past week:

1. “I am called a cult leader. I really don’t care.”

Interesting, and frightening, article here about a religious cult in the Nashville area from Christianity Today. Long article, but worth the read.

2. Don’t Play Hard to Get in Marriage

Wonderful article that points out one specific way we play passive aggressive games in marriage. Of course, there are plenty of these instances; this one happens to be written from and to wives.

3. The Gospel According to Taylor Swift

Trevin Wax takes one of the most popular poppy songs right now and sees in it a cultural gospel. It seems that gospel is one in which self-discovery and actualization is the ultimate end.

4. Translating Reasons People Leave the Church

Dean Inserra offers four excuses people give for leaving the church, then digs behind that stated reason to find the heart of the matter of each.

5. Rey is a Kenobi

My kids are all up into the Star Wars theories. Here’s one that is seeking to convince you that Rey is the granddaughter of Obi-Wan. I disagree.
