Fair warning: This is a stupid edition of “Fridays are For One Question.”
I read a Facebook status last week where someone referenced the Gummi Bears theme song. You remember it?
“Gummi bears — dancing here and there and everywhere…”
You’re welcome for that. That propelled me into a few hours of personal deliberation regarding the greatest cartoon theme song of all time. Hopefully you’re doing the same thing RIGHT NOW.
So…
“What is the greatest cartoon theme song of all time?”

Yabba – Dabba – dooooooooooooo
Flintstones. Meet the Flintstones.
They’re the modern stone age family.
From the town of Bedrock,
They’re a page right out of history.
Let’s ride with the family down the street.
Through the courtesy of Fred’s two feet.
When you’re with the Flintstones
you’ll have a yabba dabba doo time.
A dabba doo time.
You’ll have a gay old time.
I don’t know about the BEST, but the one that comes to mind is:
Duck Tales – Oooo
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
Duck Tales – Oooo
There’s a danger, look behind you
There’s a stranger, out to find you (Wha???)
What to do just grab on to some
Duck Tales – Oooo!
You can all thank me later, but a quick Google search brought up this list of Top 50 Cartoon Theme Songs of All Time
http://tvcasualties.com/top-50-cartoon-theme-songs-of-all-time/
I don’t know if I agree with the picks (esp. since I hadn’t heard of some of them), but I’d vote for Flintstones or Jetsons, with Scooby-Doo coming in close behind.
Fun question!
Jem was truly outrageous. Truly, truly, truly outrageous. I also loved the Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers, mostly because of the stuttering rap of “Ch-ch-ch-ch-chip and Dale’s / Res-cue Rangers.”
