We had a great time in Florida, despite the brief hospital stay. There are a couple of enduring memories I’ll take from the experience. Many of them involve Joshua and Andi’s interaction with each other and with the characters.
Take Thursday, for example. We extended our vacation by one day because we lost the day in the hospital, so we were hanging out at Islands of Adventure before getting on the plane to go home.
We had planned to walk out of the park through Superhero Island because Joshua, and I cannot put this strongly enough into words, LOVES superheroes. So we were walking out, looking through the comic book stores and stuff, when suddenly the sirens in the park start going off.
We turn around to see ALL the superheroes coming down the road, riding their, um, 4-wheelers. I know – that part was a little dumb. But Joshua almost wet his pants.
That’s when Tony, the uber-cool park guy saw our Make-A-Wish gear and took us into an alley behind Dr. Doom’s Freefall. We waited there for a few minutes, and then it happened.
They all came walking up. Here’s the result, with one superhero added into the mix:

Words are not enough!! You have your own superhero. Amazing!
I think that I’m crying. What a great experience!! And I love Joshua’s Spiderman moves he’s got going on! I’m glad you guys had such a great trip.
This is awesome Michael– so glad you guys had a good adventure.
Joshua’s really got the superhero stance down. I’m impressed. This is golden.
No doubt – he was busy this morning slinging webs in his soccer game. Scoring goals? Not so much… but no evil nemesis took over the soccer games. So that’s something.
awesomeness … when you wrote “sirens going off” I was anticipating some roller coaster disaster or something. Shew!
Wait! Is that Spidey or Joshua? i. can’t. tell!!! That is absolutely too precious.
How awesome is that, I’m jealous!
