Wednesday Links

Here are a few links to some things you might have missed, or at least ones that caught my attention this past week:

1. Jerry Bridges (1929-2016)

Jerry Bridges, who authored The Pursuit of Holiness and several other wonderful book, died this week. This post gives you a great summary of a life spent in service.

2. Why I’m Running for President of the Southern Baptist Convention

JD Greear writes here why he is going to run for president of the SBC, the denomination I belong to. JD is a friend, and I very much respect his reasoning and leadership.

3. 6 Things Submission is Not

This is a helpful and clarifying post from John Piper. It’s important we remember these things, for “submission” has a ton of negative connotations associated with it.

4. The One Thing About “Downton Abbey” That Really Let Me Down

The good (?) folks of Downton ended their run this past week. Trevin Wax writes here about one aspect of this show that left him wanting.

5. Ralph Kramden on Politics

Good ole Ralph. He calls ’em like he sees ’em.
