Fridays Are For One Question

This morning I revealed something to my wife (something that, she assures me, I have told her numerous times before):

August is my least favorite month of the year.

There is no football. It’s still hot. Vacations are over. Baseball hasn’t started its playoff run. It’s still hot. I can’t wait for September. But am I alone? Anybody else out there hate August?

Today’s question is a simple one: What’s your least favorite month of the year?

August USED to be my least favorite month of the year. Now it is filled with the wonderful stat-crunching world of fantasy football draft prep.

So, I would have to say that February is my new least favorite month. The only highlight is that my beloved was born on 2/27. Other than that, it’s still cold, there are no real holidays, there’s the football-is-now-7-months-away depression, it’s still cold, and only the Winter Olympics every four years breaks the sports drought that is FEBRUARY.

  • MK says:

I appreciate the emphasis on “no real holidays” in February. I’ll remember that around the 14th.

  • Doc B says:

March is my least favorite month, because I live in the Texas panhandle.

  • MK says:

Ah, the blessed wind. I remember that.

  • Nanette says:

I was going to go with March, since my birthday is in Feb., so March means it’s still a long way off until the next potential for presents, but then I remembered about March Madness, so I like March. August IS hot and somewhat uneventful, unless you live in the south and kids starting back to school. And August IS boring, unless you work at a church office, where August is one of the busiest months of the year!

  • Renee Teate says:

It is a really looooooong month, too.

  • Kelly says:

My anniversary is in August, and so are two of my siblings’ birthdays, so I can’t really say it’s my least favorite time of year, although it certainly is hot. My least favorite time of year is probably from mid-January to mid-February. By the second week of January, Christmas, New Year’s, and my birthday are over, I’ve already fallen behind on my resolutions, my husband is back to school, and the winter seems interminable—like Narnia without Aslan. I suppose it does make the first glimpse of spring all the more enjoyable.

I’m curious…what is your favorite time of year?

  • MK says:

I’ll tell you, Kelly – Here is bar none the best month of the year:

    October.

Baseball playoffs. NFL going strong. College football rolling. Weather has changed. Still anticipating Christmas.

  • I just adore February. It’s my birthday month and one of the best holidays ever invented. Lovers day. I just adore it.
