I found this video to be absolutely awesome. What you’ll see below is a mash up of clips from the show “NFL Countdown” on ESPN. Evidently, these guys got together in the scripting to see how many references to the movie, “The Princess Bride,” they could work into the show:

Awesome. Well done, boys. And it got me to thinking that there are certain movies that I often quote as a regular part of the conversation. So for today’s question:

That was perfection. Love it! I think for me, it’s a tie between this and Hook. And maybe The Sand Lot.

  • Russell says:

When I was in college, my friends and I quoted Monty Python and the Holy Grail to each other. We were major nerds.

Here’s my family’s top ten, with a typical quote-

    1. The Princess Bride (‘anybody want a peanut?’)
    2. The Holy Grail (‘she turned me into a newt!’)
    3. A Few Good Men (‘you can’t handle the truth!’)
    4. Terminator (‘Ahl be bach’)
    5. Seems Like Old Times (‘boy, girl, governor, girl!’)
    6. Fletch (‘hey doc, you ever serve time?’)
    7. Vacation (‘you have asteroids?’ ‘no, but my dad does’)
    8. Stripes (‘lighten up, francis’)
    9. Caddy Shack (‘be the ball!’)
    10. Kindergarten Cop (‘it’s not a tumor!’)

    This was fun!

…….Napoleon Dynamite. Because my family only enjoys classic films such as this one.

  • Braveheart: William Wallace, “Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you’ll live – at least a while. And dying in your beds, would you be willin’ to trade all the days, for just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our FREEDOM!”
