Fridays Are For One Question

This week I watched Glee, a new comedy on Fox. And it was funny. It was also pretty dirty. I’m still sorting out how I feel about it, but that’s another post. This post is about singing, because the show is about a high school glee club. And evidently every episode is going to feature the club or individuals doing covers. In the pilot episode, they rocked “Don’t Stop Believin'” from Journey, and it was inspired. So that got me thinking…

“What song are you most likely to belt out in the shower?”

**The goal of “One Question Friday” is simple: To show that everyone has something funny, engaging, creative, and worthwhile to say. So comment away! Be real. Be creative. Think hard. And check back to see how others answered the question.

Probably the Gladys Knight & the Pips version of I Heard It Through the Grapevine…or something else from Motown…

  • Michael K. says:

Motown does lend itself well to shower vocals.

I think I’m going to go with Louie Armstrong and “What a Wonderful World.” Sung in his voice.

This is probably better to explain in person b/c you could assume so much but:

In college, my friends and I would do Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen in the community showers before class.

  • Jana Kelley says:

“Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls” by TLC. I know every word which saying a lot since I normally never know the words to a song. Needless to say, I spent many hours with that CD playing when I was in high school.

  • Dan says:

Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up.” Don’t hate…

  • Michael K. says:

That’s a bold man to break out Groban. Though singing it in my head now, I must admit that it has high shower quality. Probably trying it out tomorrow.

All Along the Watchtower…the Battlestar Galactica version.

And I have to agree w you about GLee…really funny and clever! But there were moments when I looked at my wife and said, “can they show that on network TV?”

  • Renee Teate says:

so, I’m a little behind. Have a very sick Mother, but I love these Friday questions.

I’ve recently re-discovered my singing voice. I stopped smoking three years ago and the last several years I smoked I couldn’t stand my own singing even in the shower.

Right now I’m hung up on The Lord’s Prayer since Charles Billingsley was recently at our church for a concert. By the time I get to “Thine is the Power and the glory for ever and ever and ever” I’m about done and enjoying standing there singing at the top of my lungs and enjoying the warm water and praising my Father in heaven.

  • Michael K. says:

Better late than never, Renee – Love to see your perspective on Fridays, too.
