The BCS Is Stupid

I think we can all agree on that. If you don’t know the BCS stands for Bowl Championship Series, and it’s how the “champion” of college football is decided. But consider how great this January would be if we were looking forward to a few weeks of football tournament play, pitting Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, USC and maybe Boise State against each other.

Incredible.

In light of that, I would suggest a maybe two other interpretations for “BCS”:

Big Cash Season

Bull Crap Standings

I think you forgot the most important team on that list you provided there. You sure you want to come speak to a bunch of Texas Tech students?

I’m just thinking out loud here

  • Adam says:

It’s definitely Big Cash Season, money is the only reason we don’t have a play off. Stupid BCS.

Way to balance you blog. Yesterday was a nice spiritual thought, and today is football. Brilliant! And Adam is right, you can’t leave out the Red Raiders, they light the score board up, well except against Oklahoma which has a pretty lousy defense, so maybe you rightfully left them out.

dude – this has spoken to me on a deep level. I needed this.
My BCS = baloney crap shoot

    Jay – Good work.

Tech homers – I’ll give you that. I felt obligated to mention Boise State because of their record, but there’s not a more exciting team to watch than the Red Raiders right now.

As much as I enjoy the theological aspect of this blog, I feel compelled to comment on this post.

The BCS might was well stand for Britney (Spears) Can Sing. I don’t believe in that, either.

And really, shouldn’t the SEC Championship game just be the national title game this year?

  • Michael K. says:

And as much as I respect your opinion, Cherilyn, you are dead wrong in this case. Alabama is overrated. They’re not better than Texas, Oklahoma, or Florida. My prediction is that Florida will win by at least 10 on Saturday.

  • Cherilyn says:

Yes, Alabama has no chance. Sad but true. Stupid BCS….I love seeing them as #1, but they shouldn’t be there. I just like to give my SEC boys a shoutout when I can!
